When Creating Seems Difficult

It's good to be back!  I hope each of you had beautiful memories and times shared with loved ones over the celebration days of Christmas!

Today I'm sharing a non-celebratory card.  It's actually my first creation featuring the upcoming Rose Wonder stamp set and coordinating Rose Garden Thinlits dies.

I had just received this beautiful stamp set and coordinating dies when the need arose for sympathy cards.

I hoped to keep the entire creation clean and subtle.  The same rose outline die was used to create a subtle indentation on the inside by using a rubber embossing mat beneath the die instead of placing the die and card stock directly upon the cutting plate.

I adore using the Misti placement tool for exact placement of stamps, especially in precise situations such as I needed on this card, both front and inside.

Here's to a sweet last week of 2015 to you!  May your creative endeavors be fruitful!  Please contact me at any time for your paper crafting needs or questions.  I truly enjoy being your Stampin' Up! demonstrator and hopefully a creative inspiration for you as well.

Inky (((hugs))),

  1. Hi Bev,
Beautiful card. I wonder if you would mind sharing how you cut your flower so only part of it was cut? Did you fussy-cut it? Gorgeous, for sure.

  3. Thank you both, Linda and Brenda!

Linda, yes. I laid the die atop the Soft Suede card stock & traced the outline with a pencil. Then I cut along the outer edge of the image tracing. My goal was simply to have a small margin of the suede card stock, leaving an open space on the vanilla base for the sentiment. ;)

  7. I think I have found what I was looking for all afternoon. I was hoping for a video but the information you posted may be enough for this "ole" brain to comprehend.

What I have been searching for was to make a Sympathy card with the rose wonder die but "not" cut it out. Could not find any thing today regarding this. My thought is to make a white card with a white rose and emboss it with the thinlit.

Also, I just received yesterday the mail the Misti that I ordered.

My plan is to stamp my rose wonder card using my Misti and I see you used your Misti on this card too. I think it was meant to be for me to find my way to your blog.

    Love your card.

  8. I messed up the first several tries.

Can you tell me the sandwich secret. I was using the two tan embossing pads. I did use on top of the pad a clear SU plate. No tabs were used on the big shot plate.

The rose has too much embossing to it and the paper is cracking and tearing.

    Thanks, Lora
