Joy and a Moose!

My craftiness urges want to be as busy as most this season, but a little snag has jumped into my life that interferes a bit with what I would 'like' to be doing.  Even so, when I can add up little bits of good time in my stampy zone, I'm learning to keep a project "in progress" across days if needed and just relish completion when it happens.  Get it while the getting is good?   ;)

Jeanne's Free for All F4A356 challenge this week is to use wood.  Well, I don't care too much for stamping with wood, so I immediately thought of my Hardwood background stamp ... and that led right into an earthy look, which quickly drew me to the moose that I adore in the Jolly Friends stamp set.  There.  All settled!

Some of you may know that deep inside I yearn to be a CAS stamper.  That is not as easy as it sounds in my opinion.  I love dimension, and more than 1 layer ... and sometimes bling, and dies, and ... I could keep going.
~
Anyway ... as long as I have another package of Stampin' Dimensionals handy, I'm usually a happy stamper.   Oh ... and Glimmer Paper.  I do love me some Glimmer Paper!  For my Joyful Moose, it's 'red'.   Have a Joyful day m'friends!

In a Hurry?

Sometimes a stamper needs or wants whatever it is as soon as possible.    That certainly describes me ... and perhaps it describes you or someone you know.

Upon receiving my latest box from Stampin' Up!, I emailed a customer who has been awaiting a product resolution.  "I have it!" was the point of my email to her.  So, she texted to arrange picking it up on her way home from work.  Yay!

Whoa!  What to do to make it just a little bit special ... and do it in a hurry?!

I first tried a 6"X6" paper stack ... but needed more length to surround this embossing folder.  So, a 3" wide length of designer series paper with just a 1" pieced strip in the back created a quick & colorful belly band.  My roll of holiday red tulle caught my eye when I quickly glanced around the studio, and that took mere seconds to tie.  The length already cut happened to fit just great!  (Good mojo?  The Christmas "force" was with me?)  Yes, and yes!

The tag was also super-quick.  The detailed ornament layer was cut from Mint Macaron and a circle of Real Red was cut to layer behind.  Topped that off with a looped strip of 1/8" Gold Ribbon then tucked it beneath the bow.  Done with time to spare!

Happy Birthday in Heaven to my darling Daddy.

Savor the Anticipation!

This card came about simply because I wanted to stamp/create something and decided to  participate in a challenge.  I needed a creative break with paper, ink, and goodies, with no other particular goal in mind.  (Wouldn't it be grand if every day was so simple?!)

I love the way the Christmas Pines bundle (stamps and thinlits) work so easily with the Pine Bough embossing folder and the Presents and Pinecones designer papers.  The coordination really made this come together in a virtual 'snap'!

Even though the pictures appear to show a golden color to the pinecones, they're actually cut from the rich Copper Foil Sheets found in the Holiday Catalog.  And yes, Gold and Silver Foil sheets are available in the annual catalog.  That shine is a splendid texture contrast!

As I started grocery shopping this week for the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday, I realized that this really is the beginning of a 'season of joy' ... joy and thanks.  I rarely have my children and grands altogether on one day at one joint meal, and for me, that is one of a few limited times per year that really touches my innermost heart.  So naturally, I've come to savor the anticipation.  Come to think of it, I should write that as one of my Tex's Tips: Savor the Anticipation!  Hope you're entering a time of anticipation of joys to come as well!

Good Sense - Happiness is Coming!

For all of us who have taken advantage of the sweet Buy 3 Get 1 Free designer series paper promotion ... it just makes good sense to use some DSP!  (Designer Series Paper)

So, for the FFScraperwannabe Falliday Fest challenge today, that's exactly what I chose to do.  Misti's challenge is to create a gift card holder.  As I thought about it, I opted to try for something new instead of using one of my previous efforts as a template or inspiration, and I reached for my Envelope Punch Board.

Essentially I left the smaller end of the envelope open, then created an insert to fit inside. Then I used the super-simple method of affixing the gift card ... just 1 or 2 glue dots will hold it in place until the receiver is ready to go with it.

~
Isn't this Candy Cane Lane DSP yummy 'n fun?  It's included in the Buy 3 Get 1 Free paper promotion!  I fussy cut the gingerbread house image from one of the paper designs.  Both sentiments + the little extras on the insert layer are all from the Hang Your Stocking stamp set.   If you want to add some sparkle, just use some Dazzling Diamonds glitter to accent the gingerbread house candies!

I hope you've found a bit of inspiration here today!  I appreciate your online orders ... and I'm always happy to answer your emails or assist you in your choices.  See you back here very soon!
