If You're Stalking the UPS Truck ...

If you're stalking the UPS truck for your new catalogs to be delivered,
you might want to do some early preparation.

First, you should fill the water fountain so the UPS driver feels it's safe 'n welcoming to approach the front door.

Next, you'll need to snap a quick pic of the adorable baby bunny tucked beneath the Lantana plant.  Awwwwwwww!

It's helpful to be eager to check the porch frequently for highly anticipated cargo.  Suggestion = after every little mundane task inside, such as:
  1. empty dishwasher
  2. check entry
  3. rinse breakfast dishes
  4. check entry
  5. load rinsed dishes into dishwasher
  6. check entry
  7. move laundry from washer to dryer
  8. check entry
  9. continue developing this pattern
As your eyes survey the usual package placement zone, stay alert to all possibilities!

Suggestion:  It's time to assess your weapons stash.

All paper crafters appreciate the value of a good straight-edged tool.  Use the now-in-hand, rusty shovel to scuff a little noise in front of the serpent.

Watch the snake as it pulls back just a bit and shakes his tail at you!  Note:  tail is without rattles.  This behavior equates to 'sealing the deal' for one card-making stamper in Texas.

Confession of this stamper:  As clearly shown, my aim for 'right behind the head' was a little 'off'.  Even though I could see that the snake was severely injured, he was as squirmy as one might expect beneath the shovel blade.  My efforts to stomp atop the blade did not cause immediate signs of death.  Fortunately, this stamper was willing to call for assistance, but had to wait with foot atop the shovel until spotting 2 roofers returning to their truck a couple doors down the street.  I'm happy to clarify that roofers do carry at least one hammer on their trucks.  Hammer down = snake is history!

Now about that UPS delivery ...

One Small Positive Thought ...

Every now 'n then, we find someone who truly deserves a great vacation!   Even though it would be fantabulous to be able to gift a vacation to someone ... I'm sending a card.  Doing what I can!

This goes to a Special Ed teacher who has a powerful, positive impact on a child I love.  Believe it or not ... school ends in our area this week!

"One small positive thought in the morning can change the entire outcome of your day!"  (author unknown by me)

I love the fresh Spring feeling of the retiring Fruit Stand designer papers, combined with Peek-a-Boo Peach and Delightful Daffodil colors.  Plus, the P.Peach is a fun shade of 'orange', which happens to be this child's fave color.  Hoping for a 'score' here!  I chose one of lovely ways to say 'Thank you' from the One Big Meaning stamp set.

Lots of planning in the works here for my upcoming team gathering ... Stamping with the Stars!  Testing ideas, tossing out some, putting the Star of approval on others.   Hope you're doing what you can to enjoy creative sharing in your days ahead!

Thank you so much for your Stampin' Up! business!  I adore that you enable me to continue doing what I love!

Easter Simplicity

Just taking a few minutes to share my Easter card for this year.  While I do plan to do something light-hearted for the younger ones in my life, April is a time of incredible highs and extreme lowness in my heart.  It's a month of amazing blessings, and a month of tremendous loss.  As such, it always prompts a lot of reflection ... and that can be a very good thing.

Far more CAS (clean 'n simple) than my usual style ... but this is almost precisely what I envisioned as I sat down to create with this long-time favorite stamp set from Sweet & Sassy Stamps.  I know ... I happily stamp with SU stamps the majority of the time.  But in reality I have a love of rubber stamps that crosses over a lot of companies.  And I have a semi-impressive collection of all sorts + brands of stamps.  ***It's okay!  Please forgive me if I made anyone utter a wee little gasp.***   😊
So back to this particular card:  Quite simply, there are times when gold embossing on vanilla cardstock speaks volumes on its own ... in my stampy opinion.   The sentiment?  I love that it gleams in gold and is a favorite refrain from Christian music.
Easter seems to be arriving so 'late' this year ... but last year it seemed 'early'.  Funny how synchronized we become to our 12-month calendar, isn't it?  I wonder if children feel they're waiting an extra few weeks for the joy of scampering around in search of eggs filled with happy surprises and treats?  Well, at least I have a few more days to come up with just the right Easter fun goodies for the littles and the not-so-littles in my life this week.  Whew!

Wishing you a blessed Easter week, beautiful reflections of your own, and hopefully a bit of inspiration for you in some positive or creative way!

Peach Rain

So do you ever start working on something with no particular recipient in mind?
That's how today's card started.  I spotted the Fusion Challenge - 'Paris Rain', and quickly had an idea of what I might do ... ... and so it began!

The large image space drew my attention right away, and both my aqua painter brush plus watercolor paper were within reach.

Let's be honest ... I do have a LOT of stamps.  But I do not have the Eiffel tower, etc.  No problem!  I wanted this happy image from 'Beautiful You' to be 'dancing in the rain', so the image was stamped, then stamped again on some Eclipse masking tape.  The mask protected the central image while I lightly washed the paper as though it were a rainy day.

While that was drying, I worked on color selection and chose the additional stamps.  All the while, I still didn't really have a recipient in mind for the card-to-be, until I heard about a friend from my stamping group.  With that cyber shoulder-tap, I knew the exact purpose of this creation.

Don't you love it when that happens?

The framing around the sentiment was stamped with the leaf image from Kinda Eclectic as seen creating the surrounding foliage on the card's front.

Psssst!  Sale-A-Bration ends next week!
