Have you been participating in the annual Hope You Can Cling To challenges over at Splitcoaststampers?
~
Consider joining in this fun & wonderful outpouring of our handmade cards being sent throughout October to M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX. Daily challenges are presented to whet your creativity, and you get the added pleasure of packaging up your creations to be used by the cancer patients and their attending families while they are battling all kinds of cancer.
HYCCT1511 Challenge is themed, "Can I Get a Ride?"
Create a card that features a mode of transportation. Any transportation ... cars, bicycles, trains ... even if it would not be realistic to use on the way to chemo. Here's my challenge card ... meant to bring a giggle or two to whoever chooses to use it.
This one features the darling single stamp set, If the Broom Fits from the Holiday Catalog. When I read this challenge, I knew exactly which set I wanted to use. {hee here hee}
The brooms were stamped with Stampin' Up!'s new Archival Black ink, then colored with Stampin' Write markers. The fourth broom was emphasized by coloring it with Melon Mambo, rather than the Blushing Bride as used on the others. A second broom was colored, fussy cut, then popped up on Dimensionals for a little brighter, blinged-up option.
Fringe Scissors provided easy texture to the ends of my sentiment strips. A little direct-to-paper inking adds just a touch of Melon Mambo color. I hope you like it!
Tex's Tip: Consider making + sending some of these to your girlfriends, sisters, and/or co-workers as their reminder to do their annual mammogram!
