Celebrate! in B&W

A new creation to share with you today!   Left-side limitations continue to interfere with many everyday activities, but I'm tickled to now be able to stamp through it as possible.  Whew!

I truly enjoy using stamps to create the elements of dimensional flowers.  I've done this periodically over several years, and enjoy giving the results to people in my life for a vast array of reasons.  This one already has a planned recipient .. although the birthday giving will be a few weeks away.  ... Marking one small thing off that guest checklist!  Don't you just love doing that?!!

I checked out the Inspiration Challenge, IC486, over at Splitcoaststampers. As soon as I spotted this photo, the ideas started coming.  I had already spotted the sketch over at CAS(E) this Sketch, which pretty much sealed the plan!

Did you notice that the sketch is from "CAS"E this Sketch?  Yeah ... It seems that once again I'm foiled on that part.  Oh well, I'm thankful for their idea springboard!

Not only will this be for a birthday ... but the recipient will be celebrating here birthday while visiting here in Texas!  I'm already looking forward to this surely-to-be-fun family visit!

Once I had played with the layers for the blossom, I decided it needed just a little "glam" touch.  Smooch Spritz and a quick dry in the window sill came to the rescue!  The little yellow spirals?  I cut eency-thin slivers of Daffodil Delight C/S, then wrapped them around a watercolor brush handle!   I love the look, but that's about the time I decided this will be hand-delivered.   LOL

I'd love to know if you like it!   In any event, happy new week to all of you!

Hello, Wisteria!

I am so tickled to have stamped today!  A bit over a week ago, a herniated disc interrupted my life to the point where "normal" has dramatically changed.  Neck, shoulder, arm, hand, fingers, are all affected, and even stamping has halted until today.  Now it requires planning my movements to involve primarily the right side.  Thanks to my local downline, Julie, classes were held that had already been rescheduled once due to icy roads.  Big, big THANKS to you, Julie!  I'm also required to be chauffeured while on these meds ... but I'm actually willing as long as the pain can be pushed back.

The latest color challenge over at Splitcoaststampers, CC522, is to use Wisteria Wonder, Smoky Slate, and Whisper White.  The 'dessert' option is to add a touch of green.   CAS(E) this Sketch, CTS114, and was eager to use it ... so today was a day of careful maneuvering while managing to stamp again ... at last!  Waiting for the next dose of pain meds has been my daily routine since the ER a week+ ago.  Success today has been SO enjoyable!

I had already spotted this lovely sketch at CAS(E) this Sketch, CTS114, and knew I really wanted to use this layout.  Notice, I morphed from the original CAS plan, and ended up with "more" rather than true CAS.  Oh well!  I just "went with it"!   ;)  Hopefully the CAS police will just roll their eyes and give me a pass.

Wisteria Wonder is such a soft and subtle pastel.  Perfect for Spring creations, Easter, vintage projects and more!

The designer series paper in the central area of the card is from the 'All is Calm' dsp collection of wintery designs.  But this Smoky Slate side has no season at all, and could easily be used for a number of themes.  Add silver to it and you're on the way to a beautiful bridal or anniversary creation!  For my flower centers, I chose Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer paper, punched with the Petite Petals punch and the little flower from the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack.
Here's to something beautiful happening in your day!  Hope you've found a bit of inspiration!

Inky (((hugs))),

News from Stampin' Up! - Blendabilities

Good morning, friends!

You may or may not have heard the latest news from Stampin' Up! regarding the Blendabilities markers being discontinued.   Customers and demonstrators alike are experiencing varied emotions about this topic.  On a personal level, I can see how difficult, even gutsy it has been for Stampin' Up! to literally 'pull the plug' on this long-awaited coloring product.  But I'm so proud to be a part of this company that simply will not offer a product that they know to be inferior.  For me, that is the 100% quality standard that I've long known and loved about this Stampin' Up!

So this morning, I want to share the official explanation provided to us from the company. That statement follows:

Blendabilities Product Line Has Been Discontinued

Many of you may already be aware that we have experienced a quality issue with our Blendabilities product line, and we thank you for your patience as we’ve worked through this sensitive matter.
We’ve done everything possible to work with our manufacturer; unfortunately, with no solution in sight, we’ve had to make the difficult decision to discontinue this popular product line.
We have provided you with a Q & A in the hopes that this will answer any questions or concerns you may have.
Thank you for your support as we continue to look for products that will meet our customer’s needs and provide you with the quality that you have come to expect from Stampin’ Up!
If you have purchased Blendabilities, please visit the Q & A area listed to see if your questions are addressed.  If you have concerns not mentioned in the statement, please do contact me via the contact button in the left column of this blog.  I'll be more than happy to talk with you about this change.

In the meantime, have a blessed new week ahead!  As always, I welcome your input, your emails, or calls, and I'm oh so happy to be your Stampin' Up! demonstrator of choice!
